Out of the box ready to go after attaching the anti tip feature, they just click right in and the horizontal push bar, which easily screws behind each handle. The back has a place to store extra soft or flat stuff in a big pocket. And the seat is cushioned. The leg support can swing completely out of the way when the person is entering the chair while still being attached. You can use the chair with or without the extra horizontal bar.
